Spirits and Drinks

They go hand in hand. The Gentleman’s Flavor provides an ongoing review of excellent pairings of spirits and drinks that will compliment your cigar.

Timeless pairings include rum, whiskey and cognac. Other drinks commonly held in the hand not holding the cigar include beer, brandy, port or tequila to mention a few (tip: keeping some sparkling, carbonated water on hand will help refresh your palette in between cigar draws and drink sips). Spirits lighter in color like vodka and gin generally do not stand up as well to a cigar as their darker counterparts, as the strength of a cigar typically overpowers the subtlety of lighter colored spirits.

Just thinking about it, I envision myself seated in a regal, dark brown leather chair; lit cigar one in hand, snifter held in the other as I think about everything or nothing at once. At the Gentleman’s Flavor we’re constantly thinking of the perfect drink to compliment your cigar. Read on and you may soon feel inclined to pour yourself a wee dram of something before you light that Cuban number you’ve been saving…
